Mathematics at Christ Church Academy

The Mathematics Department at Christ Church Academy uses a diagnostic approach to teaching and learning. This means teachers continually assess pupils’ understanding and adapt lessons to meet the needs of the class. Rather than following a fixed order, topics are taught at the most appropriate time to support pupils’ progress and deepen their understanding.

Our Learning Journey documents outline the key learning objectives for each year group. These show how the curriculum builds progressively from one year to the next, enabling pupils to develop their mathematical knowledge and confidence throughout their four-year journey at CCA.
