Y7 Science Trip to the Big Bang Fair
14th February 2019
Dear Parents and Carers
I am organising a science trip for all pupils in Year 7 to the Big Bang Fair on Thursday 14th March as part of British Science Week. The Big Bang UK Young Scientists & Engineers Fair is the largest celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) for young people in the UK. It is an award-winning combination of exciting theatre shows, interactive workshops and exhibits and careers information from STEM professionals.
The fair aims to show young people the exciting and rewarding opportunities out there for them with the right experience and qualifications, by bringing classroom learning to life. It is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to explore their options within the STEM subjects as well as taking part in learning activities that are both engaging and exciting. More information about the fair can be found at https://www.thebigbangfair.co.uk/plan-your-visit/about-us/.
The cost of the trip will be £8.50 per child, this cost is to cover the travel to and from the event. In order to fully support those who are in need we can offer some financial help with this educational trip. This support is available to all pupils who may be in need including those in receipt of Pupil Premium. If you would like to be considered for some financial support please contact Mrs Thorn in school either by phone or by email to email@example.com. All requests will be treated with utmost confidence and respect.
Pupils will attend in school uniform and will need to take a packed lunch with them. We intend to leave school at 8.45am and hope to return for 4.30pm. Pupils will be accompanied by myself and a number of other staff from Christ Church Academy.
If you wish your child to take part in the trip, please complete the form below and place it in the box outside the finance office. Please make payment via your Parentpay account by 6th March.
We must point out that for reasons of safety and enjoyment, if your child’s behaviour causes problems in or out of lessons from now until the trip, the school has the right to withdraw them from the party.
If you have any further questions about the trip, please do not hesitate to contact me at school.
