Prayer event 'Thy Kingdom Come'
7th May 2019
For 10 days, starting on the 30th of May, we will be inviting pupils and staff to take part in a prayer event called ‘Thy Kingdom Come’. ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ is a global prayer movement that started in 2016 as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York to the Church of England and has grown into an international call to prayer.
Taking part in the event will give pupils and staff the chance to pray for or think about 5 people who are very important to them. We would encourage you to spend some time discussing your son/daughter’s 5 choices at home. Supplied with this letter is some string for your son/ daughter to make a prayer band that they may wear to school for the 10 day period. They should make 5 knots in the thread – one to represent each person. At a given point in each day pupils will be given a few moments time to pray for, or reflect on, those 5 people that their 5 knots represent. Pupils may wish to complete the prayer cards supplied and bring them in to school to help them remember their 5 people.
We would very much appreciate your support in ensuring that your son/ daughter’s prayer band is completed, ready to be worn to school on Thursday 30th of May.
